Hi,

Really need help here as I have done everything that I know of.

PMS to Mermail link down;

I have a PMS emulator and I am connected directly on the PMS side in the PBX room so PMS is out of the picture as well as distance to the PMS system.

I have receded Mermail card, have rebooted Mermail and have rebooted PBX. I have also changed the NTAK18BA module (connected to Amphenol # 10) and also the power card on the (3rd card from left to right) on the Mermail. Even swapped cabinets to eliminate the possibility of a defective back plaint.

This PBX was hit by a power surge a year ago and this link has been very flakey since then. SSC card and main control card where changer on the PBX after that incident.

HELP PLS !!! ….what would be the next step????

Do not trust that your NTAK18 card is good just because you replaced it!

Also when you do replace that card I believe it's recommended that the Mail be down and cards backed out.

I meant module since it's not actually in a card slot.

If you are playing with the NTAK18, and its an obvious, but ensure that the switch on the card is enabled.....else the mail gets bypassed.

And as stated above.....Nortel state that the mail is to be turned off when changing the card.

Its not unknown that you may have multiple faulty cards.

Reading above as well.... you have reseated the mail card/s, but you do not say that they have been replaced......

Have you gone into the link monitor? This is a good tool. You will be able to see the heartbeat messages etc, and possibly make a determination as to if its really PMS to Mail, or Mail to PABX.

Sadly from what I am reading, I think you need more investigation work in the basics.

Which ever TTY port you are connecting to for PMS (Probably TTY 2) in LD 37 DIS that TTY port and in LD 17 out the port and put it back in exactly as it was. Reenable in LD 37.
Sorry if you already did this.
