Hi All,

I am looking to setup a Thru-Dial, that I can call from a DDI and make calls to extensions with in the building.

This is for a help desk that will be external to our switch and will need to contact customers without DDI's?

I am not sure if this is the way or is there another way?

Thanks in advance,

Killian

can do or set something up in symposium if you have it.

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

i do have symposium 4.2, any ideas?

Thanks

Sorry - I just saw the title - Meridian Mail

In Mermail you can setup a simple thru-dial application or a very complex. For a simple app -

From main Menu select 3
then select 4
then select thru-dial services
Hit F7 for Add
give it an ID (can be any number-suggest making it the DID plus a digit or two)
Give it an update password
if all your exts are the same length and you just want to dial by ext. select ext and fixed and enter the number of digits in ext. Leave pad empty (this is if you are accessing through a menu). select a restriction table or do a custom and make sure the digits that will be dialed are not restricted. Save and exit

Now select menu item 1 and F7 to add
enter DID number, TS for thru-dial, enter the ID you built, and a decription, save and exit.

Lastly - need to point did to voice mail - in switch built a dummy acd que
LD 23
REQ: new
Type: ACD
ACDN: <-- enter DID
MAXP: 1
NCFW: <-- enter voice mail DN

Now test

sounds like you need a menu service, instead of a thru dial, same procedure, use MS instead of TD and then go to option 6, define 1 thru 9 to be CL (call exten) or EX (express mail). i have the that set up in the switch room, but recorded a greeting that doesn't give the menu choices. i know if i dial 1 it gives me the duty pager, and if i dial 2 it rings the desktop support people and so on. it gets a little deeper when you want it to call back out of the switch but not to bad. like someone said symposium will do the same thing, but the scripting is not as user friendly. mermail is a fill out the form solution.. jp

Thanks to all, it is working fine,

Killian
