Meridian mail log on screen problem

I'm trying to enter a meridian mail sys via option 11c using a dial up modem and vt100 8 n 1. I can login to the switch with no problem but when switch to MM using AX I get the following.

L [ I K L M M 2 [ [ o1qqq L [;

I've tried the following:
Control ] (out and back in)
Control R (to refresh)
LD 37 dis tty 8 and then enl

Any ideas people?

I beleive you need to use VT220 for MMAil

Strange! Because it works ok on the other 7 sites I manage. I'm usung Hyperterminal which does'nt have VT220. Any other thoughts?

That is strange. It should work with Hyperterminal set to vt100 and 8n1. I know you have probably already done this, but check your language and settings against your other setups for your other switches, and then build a new connection. try changing your emulation to ansi and if that doesn't work try auto. If none of this works, try reprogramming the modem to talk to the meridian1, just like it was new out of the box, it could have some scambled data in it.

I think you'll find it is Release sensitive. All our MM supported VT100 until we upgraded our 9 sites last year. Now I have to use VT220.

I'm not sure about the release sensitive issue. It's possible I guess, but I have rls 24 opt.11s running MM13 and I can get into them using hyperterminal with vt100 8n1. I do prefer procomm, but hyperterminal always gets me through in a pinch.

Problem solved by reseting Mmail. Coruption between M1 and Mmail !!!!
