So based on this older thread, my problem is identical, all of the links in the hospitality section of the mail are fine "link ok" but the PMS company says they are not communicating with the system...we tried different combination of parity/stop bits and flow but nothing seemed to work, i rebooted the voicemail and still nothing....not sure where to go here....how do i prove it's NOT the PBX/mail...

can you see the pms info on the meridian, if not
LD 37 enl msgi & enl msgo

then get a room booked out and watch the meridian to see if there is data

also it may help to use the KILL 2 command with mail
i always find the mail works after that...

Tried the KILL 2 didn't work.

I enabled both msgi/msgo, and i can see the same messages as the previous test...not sure if the PMS format has been changed during a major crash they had....but how do i prove the PBX/Mail to be ok....or not.....

been a while but i think you will also need BGD on the tty port this will enable you to see the pms data..

if you can see the data then get them to reboot the opera kit again

there is another mail command try this

hold down the CTRL key and enter BTB pause half a second then enter KIL (still holding down the CTRL key) this is like a hard reset.

worth a shot..

Gibblett, thanks for the response.

I have tried reseating the VM Card and BGD is enabled on the tty port.

Here is a sample of the MSGI/MSGO messages on the PBX

Any thoughts anyone....as for the above is see a couple of messages from the mail to the pbx but most of them look like the above.

next i would book yourself into a room using your name for example and check to see if that data is passed over the link, also call the room from a digital set and see if your name is displayed, if this is ok again it points to another opera reboot.

i have some pdf's that may help you sort this out...

If you have any docs that may help i would appreciate it.

Does anyone have a document that decrypts what the Universal Link monitor is saying...

I'm getting a message ((STX)) which i'm guessing is Syntax but i wanted to make sure....

Can open any of the files....it says its corrupt, i tried from three pc's....perhaps it's the compression?

dunno why that is, it worked ok for me,,, but never mind go back to my site i have uploaded then seperatly let me know if they are ok

Got it this time.

However, here is where i am so far with this.

The message being sent is received from the pms to the MM the mail responds with an ACK but the opera people are not seeing this....i'm totally at a loss now i have tried everything...including swithcing the wiriing and hard booting the mail.....any thoughts....ANYONE.

At the beginning of your message you said that you had checked everything on the Hospitality Administration section.

This is what I get for a customer of mine that I had a problem with early on this week.

Hospitality Administration
Hospitality System Status

Link From Meridian Mail to PMS: Link_is_Down

Link From Meridian Mail to SL-1: Link_is_OK

Switch Between SL-1 and PMS: Meridian_Mail_on_Line

Room Resynch. Mode: Enabled

I had to unseat the Mail 13 card for a minute and then reboot it, but I still had the screen message above.
We had to get the PMS people to instruct the customer to reset the PMS machine the next day.

Once that was done, everything was OK and I logged in later to see the message below.

Hospitality Administration
Hospitality System Status

Link From Meridian Mail to PMS: Link_is_OK

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Hi,
Sorry to jump in late, but I have a similar problem on the same system. I can see guests checking in and out, but on check in, there are no mailboxes created or opened. The message a caller gets is that the user does not subscribe to voice mail. Any ideas?

Take your laptop to the Opera end and just enter the commands from that and see if it comes back with an ACK on your screen and then tell them to KYA.
