Meridian 6 x 16 question NT5B01

I have a question about an older Nortel Meridian 6 x 16 phone system I recently installed for a friend. On all of the phone sets, when you use the speakerphone you can hear the other party on the Speakerphone, but they can't hear you unless you pick up the handset?

Does anyone know if this phone system or the phone sets can be programmed for a full functioning speakerphone? This particular system software is DR3.. Thanks you for any help

Yes, it works all the way down to DR-1. Make sure the handset is not plugged into the headset jack on the rear of the phone.

Also, make sure the Handsfree Mute button indicator is flashing. (cuss mode)

Feature 66 does it

Oh ok.. I just had to program a blank button for Mic/ Hands free.. "Feature 66" Yes more appropriately termed "cuss mode"

I ment to say "Cuss Mode" not flashing. Got lazy and skipped a word.
And yes, the Feature 66 (voice Call) should work fine unless someone did a Feature 88 (voice call deny) on the set you are trying to chat with.
