One of the Meridian 1 61C's I maintain was upgraded not long ago and Cores 0 & 1 were changed out. The old cores had floppy drives, the new cores have pcmcia card slots. I use to pull the floppy out of one of the cores and do a EDD to keep an off site backup.
I want to know if I can pull a pcmcia card, stick in a blank one, and do a EDD. This is the first time I've worked with the new cores that don't have floppies and don't know if they work the same.

Yes you can do that. The backup flash is 128 MB that is provided with the switch. Or you can just copy the files off the card and stick it back in the drive. If you are using a new card be sure to format it properly.
