Is there a way I can administer Mermail from my desk computer? I have something called a AutoAdmin but I don't know the IP address?
I think we can only dial into the smer mail

Hi,

NEVER use AX using an ethernet port (using OTM with a PTY i.e.) when you AX to mail using an ethernet port (PTY) you can access mail but you can't leave mail admin. To exit the mail admin you must reboot mail...

When you use a terminal server with a serial port (TTY) connected to it, there's no problem.

nortel does sell a software package, mermail manager, look in to it, i have it here but is usless for someone that has a pc on mail full time. i live in the switchroom, or i might have been forced to learn the manager software. you can use a simple dial up from procomm, not a clean ass telnet but simple. a lot depends on how often you need it. in the past your request would have been a pair of short haul modems, to black box devices that extend a comm port up to 1000 feet on two pair of cat 3 or better. speed is of no use on a device that does a screen paint at 9.6 or so.
