I have heard you can merge two pivot tables to a pivot chart. How do you do this? Or is this not possible. I have a pivot table that has a year dimension where I am trying to measure quantity compared from this year to last year. I cannot get a two line graph, I only get one line that has both years along the bottom, so I have created two pivot tables and then copied the data and made a chart with the copied data. Any thoughts?

Thanks for reading,

Greg

So you have months listed vertically with values for the year in question ??
And the dataset has data for both years ??

You just need 1 pivot table

Month as ROW field (down the side)
YEAR as COLUMN field (at the top)
Values in the middle

You should then be able to create a 2 series line chart from that data layout

I have the Years/Quarter/Month/Day listed along the X axis and the quanitity along the left side. The graph is giving me one line with the years broken into 5 days along the bottom. So the bottom of the graph has the years 2002 and 2003 along with the 5 days I am asking, but I do not have a way to break the line from one to two lines. Is there a trick to grouping or something that I can put along the side as a series?
