merging multiple images

Hi i have 3 images running from left to right that i am trying to merge together. I am using the mask and the the gradient tool which works fine when i blend the left image to the centre image but when i go to blend the centre image to the right image the gradient overides the gradient blending the left and centre image. So basically how do i blend the centre image to both the images either side.

God i dont even understand what i mean. I hope you do
