I am fairly new to Photoshop and have a question.
How can I overlay a smaller image over a larger image and soften the edges between them?

Put the smaller image onto a layer above the larger image (copy & paste should do it). There are a few ways to soften the edges. For example, you could add a layer mask on the smaller image, select a soft brush and paint on the mask around the edges.

i am very new to photoshop, i have two images, how do i soften the edges so that they sorta blend in together, please reply asap

Hi 111111, try making the blending mode on the top layer "Multiply" (click on the button that says "Normal" in you layer palette.)

You should now have a sort of tranparency. To soften the edge use a layer mask on the top layer (Layer menu > add layer mask). Masks allow you to paint in a channel which specifies which parts of that layer remain visible.

(see Photoshop "help" for more info on masks)

Using a very soft brush, with a low opacity, paint the areas whichyou want to blend on the top layer.
