Merging clips

When I cut segments of clips with the razor tool,
it seems that there's no possibility to merge them again.
I need to be able to do this because i want a video transfer effect throughout the total length of the cut clips.

eg.: is there a way to export 5 clips that are in the middle of 2 other so I can merge them together as a whole clip again?

- grouping them is not enough, you still can't apply an effect to the whole group at once, only to every separate section...

thank you.

If you have razored a clip into two or more sections, then all you need to do is to delete all but the first, and then stretch the first one to show once again the material that is beyond the truncated end point.

If you want to apply effects to multiple clips, then the easiest way is to put all those clips into a sequence and then apply the effect to the sequence when used as a 'clip' on another timeline (ie within another sequence).

Hope this covers your question. If not, please try again.

well the problem is:

i have a long sequence.
in the middle of the sequence there is a 5 minute clip, this clip is razorred in three pieces. the middle piece is slowed down to 30%
so I have a long sequence with in the middle a 6 minute clip that exists of 3 pieces.

i want to export only this razorred, 6 minute clip so that I can import it again als ONE piece (so I can add animating effects to the total clip)

so how can i export a part of a sequence that exist of three clips into a new sequence so I can save them as one movie and reimport them?

sorry if i'm not making myself clear, hope you understand what i'm saying...

Place the work area bar over the section you want to export. Then file/export/movie to file in the same format choosing the option to export work area rather than whole project, and then re-import the clip and replace the bits.

But it is MUCH better to move the section into another sequence, and then apply the effect to the sequence in the main timeline/sequence. That's what nested timelines/sequences are all about.
