Please note, this question involves PCL coding using PICK Basic programming on mvEnterprise / AIX operating system.

I am trying to find a way to merge an existing .pcl file image (business card) into a new PCL document, for the purpose of printing both on one page using PICK Basic. The .pcl image starts out as a .pdf doc and is converted to .pcl format. Then it is stored in a folder/directory for access from the PICK program. I can access the .pcl file by using OPENSEQ / READSEQ, but so far have only been able to print the first line of the Business card on a page after the main document.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You haven't said how you are creating the .pcl from the .pdf.

My approach would be to create a PCL raster file from the PDF. Then as yamyam suggested merge it into the final PCL file as a macro/overlay.

This might mean that you will have to first generate a .BMP or such from the PDF, and then convert it to PCL. The difficulty you a facing may be that there are absolute positioning codes within the PCL file created from the PDF which are not compatible at all with the final output.

By first converting to a raster file, that problem is totally eliminated.
