Hi all,

we currently have a CRM application which uses SQL Server 2000 for its backend data storage. The CRM has 4 different databases, all with the same schema.

My task is to merge all these db's together without losing any information.

as part of the merge process we wish to identify duplicate companies based on address or post code and merge all the data together, including all contacts, notes and histories.

is all this possible with DTS, if so, how? or am i going to have to develop a software app to do this?

Thanks in advance for any help received.

What is the purpose of merging the data together? Is it for reporting purposes or are you just trying to conform the data across all databases. If the second option is the goal then what are you going to do when you have done this? update the existing CRM data? Bad idea in my opinion. If the goal is a centralized reporting system then you should be looking at Data Warehousing methodologies. Conforming data is a common if not essential practice when building an enterprise wide data warehouse.
