I have been given a horrible task that I hope somebody could help me with. I have 2 worksheets with very simular data in,
Sheet 1
A B C
partnumber opnumber descrip
0040123 10 machine
0040123 20 cut
0040123 30 inspect
0040123 40 t/ments

Sheet2
A B C
partnumber opnumber descrip
0040123 10 goodsin
0040123 20 dip
0040123 30 final

Each sheet has maybe 5000 differant part numbers and varying amounts of opnumbers. What I have been asked to do is merge the cells from sheet2 into sheet1 where partnumber=partnumber and sheet1 descrip=t/ments. I would be grateful if anybody could help me

Hi,

This is not a difficult task.

1. Filter the first list by t/ments

2. Copy the filtered DATA from that sheet and then, assuming that the columns are identical data, paste at the END of the data on the other sheet.

3. Then sort by PartNumber, Operation

VOLA! :)
