Merge Problem with Arcserve 2000

..i ran a backup over the weekend. No problem.
..i removed the tapes and cleaned out the database.
..i put back the tapes, ran the inventory. no problem.
..when i go to merge the tapes . it keeps asking me to mount media "abc"..i can see media "abc" because i just ran the inventory. i tried to merge just one session instead of all.. but still no luck.
oh yeah..i ran another backup and that works...any ideas out there??

If the database engine was down when the backup was done (check to see if there is a '*' next to the job ID in the logfile), then the catalog was not written correctly to tape. If this is the case, then there are two possible solutions.

[ol][li]There is a newer version of mergecat.exe that correctly handles these catalog files[/li][li]Set the DoNotUseMergeCatalog registry key and run the merge (this will take a long time)[/li][/ol]
