Merge multiple TIFF files into 1 TIFF file

I need assistance merging multiple tiff files into 1 tiff file. I am fairly new to imaging in Java so any help is appreciated. I prefer not using JAI, but if I must that is also fine.

Well, there are commercial APIs to work with TIFF with Java, like Asprise.

And products that can manage Tiff files shareware

Anyway, I think JAI is the way to go: JAI workaround
