merge document

I would like to merge fields into a document, then save that document with the merged information. I then need to save that document as a standard word doc (no longer being a merge doc). I need to import "as of" information and save it off for later editing without re-merging

ok , figured out the merge to new document part but would like it to only merge the current page not all of the records(pages) possible?
