Hi,

I had an access database which I gave to the customer. They wanted to enter thousands of records, but they wanted a 10 people to be responsible for different sets of records, e.g. person 1 entered records 1-1000, person two 1001-2000, at the same time. I am a real 'newbie', so I let them enter the 10000 records filling in a uniqiue ID for each records then copy the database 10 times and distribute them to the ten people to enter the rest of the fields for the 10000 records.

Now I have a 10 DB's that I want to merge? What is the best way to go about this, each DB has ten Tables. Any ideas, suggestions, code very much appreciated.

Rob

Have them get a copy of each db to you... then open a master one, and link to each of those copies with 1k records in each... then copy out of each table, and paste into the new master table... it'll take you a little time, but if this is a one time thing I wouldn't bother with code...

Also, once you get this done and are going to give the db back to the person... split the db, front end/back end... put the back end on a network drive where every one has access to it, and put the front end on each local pc...

Just a couple of idea's...

James,

When you say link how do you mean? How would I go about this?

Thanks for the reply.

click on file>get external data, then there will be a option to link or to import, i would link it, then copy all the records out of the linked table, into the local table...

just my idea...
