hi all
ms access 2003 ( originally built in v97)
ms word 2003 on windows xp

interesting problem.\
I am tryin to bring fields into a word doc from a query in ms access. the mdb uses odbc to a oracle 9 db. In this query i can drop out one specific table and I can import the data fields to a new word doc n/p.

If i leave this one table with its one field in the query - the data will not import. This one field is the selection for the query, by that, I mean it has the select criteria filled in w/ a "like". The relationships for this table doesnt look right when i LET ACCESS make the links. There are also links made in the 'relationships' area for the entire mbd.

I had to leave this issue undone as I had to get the kiddo after work. right now I suspect that the relaionships on this table to other tables linked to oracle werent set up correctly by the original developer. The query does operate as expected in the access enviroment. But it will not import into MS word until I delete that one table.

the specific table alone in a new query will import into a word doc.

this 1 table query working makes me suspect it is a relation issue w/ the other tables. But why work in access and not the word doc?

a bit odd heh?

thanks

jim

I found something out this AM on this ...for those interested.

It is not the realtionships causeing the problem IE: data from access query moving into MS word.

what appears to be the hold up is a 'LIKE' selection criteria in one of the query fields. The migration to WORD works fine w/ the LIKE REMOVED and a '=' put in its place.

but the '=' wont work for the proper seletion I need.
back to it!!
