Hi all

I need to merge a couple of servers clients indexes in two one of the existing servers client index. The data is being moved from server_a to the server_b and then that server_a will be shutdown for good. I would also then like to be able to delete the client that is no longer being used for server_a. However I will still need to be able to recover the data from previous backups. The clients are both running on version 7.4 sp2 and are on W2k3 , i will also need to be able to have the option of recovering data from old expired tapes for server_a. Is this possible or I am I going to need to keep server_a client as it is and perform directed recoveries ?

Transfering the meta data should not be a problem:
- Run a full backup of your CFIs on a separate media
- Create the same client with the same client ID
- run scanner -m to scan the media

Now comes the challenge: as the media index information can not be merged, you must also scan all media with the client backups.

Recovering deleted/foreign data is not an issue.
