Hello,

We are deploying an updated version of some internal software to roughly 400 pc's. Most of which are xp pro, but we have some win 2000 and nt machines.

I have created answer files for all three os's. Is there a way to merge those three answer files into one answer file? There are only a couple of lines different in them, but I wasn't sure because those differences are different answers to the same question code.

any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Ben

Can I have some more information?

Are u updating the OS's or just update software on them?

IF it is the OS's what info differs in the answer files? UDF switch is an option depending on details.

Not the OS, it is an internal database app.

I figured it out. I compared the three answer files and the 2000 file only had one extra dialog entry, so I copied it over and the NT had 3 extra options. So I moved them over also.

Basically I have one answer file with an answer to every possible question for any OS. It worked beautifully. (Now to build the scripts to create the schedule on each machine.)

Hopefully this will be the last time we have to do this, we will use Active Directory to do all of this next time

thanks

Ben
