I have some maps that uses Mercator's Database Interface and they are all running perfectly well with Oracle 9.x but not on
Oracle 10g. It only read the first record and then throws an error that it has found an invalid data.
I think 8.0 is the only version certified for 10g. I'm not sure if 6.7 was certified for 9i but there were 9i dlls. For us to use 9i in version 6.5 we ended up getting some updated dlls from Mercator.
You may have to bite the bullet and upgrade. Depending on your environment and maps upgrades usually go pretty smoothly.
Thanks for the enlightenment. We were using 5.0 and 6.5 in oracle 9i without a problem. We were told that Datastage 7.0 and 7.1 will work with 10g but never mentioned about 5.0 or 6.5 working on 10g. I guess we have to bite the bullet.
I was afraid it will have to come to this but I already have converted those inbound maps into 4GL (cobol) long time ago
and there was not a whole lot of gotchas happened.
You could try coping the 10g dll(s) to 6.5 path, rename it/them and see what happens? Be safer to upgrade though. Most of the upgrades I've done have gone pretty smooth. Ended up being more worry than anything.
