Hello again,

Sorry to bother you guys with all these questions, but at one of our customers' these strange errors seem to keep popping up at irregular intervals, and I can't find any info on them whatsoever (making it very hard to fix these errors).

One of them is SQLConnect: [MERANT][ODBC PROGRESS driver][PROGRESS]Unable to complete connection. Function dsmUserConnect; reason (-210013)

The other one is SQLConnect: [MERANT][ODBC PROGRESS
driver][PROGRESS]Network error on server or client initiation. (-30034)

If only I had some info on this problem, I could work towards reproducing and fixing it, but as it is, it is driving me nuts... Thanks in advance for any insight!

Hiya Sprout!
I've been banging my head against MERANT/Progress ODBC errors for a month now. Just found a slew of stuff at the PROGRESS sight
Click the link above, click the link "Knowledge Center" then enter "MERANT ODBC error" the resulting list is BIG (jeez maybe this is a common problem?)

It opens a new window without browser tools so I can't send the specific link...but I'll be there for the next couple of hours I can tell. I didn't see your (or my) specific error but maybe this is a starting place?

Good Luck! I'm beginning to think anyone using MERANT connection to Progress will need it :)

Thanks a lot for your reply!

Unfortunately I had already discovered the knowledge base (got there through and I still didn't find any information about my errors *sniff*.

Did you have any succes finding a solution your specific problem?

My service bureau is here updating PROGRESS to 91.D -- he makes sympathetic sounds when I tell him my problem and tells me the upgrade will help. Notice he doesn't actually say it will "fix" it! Then he tries to sell me the data warehouse app they've just written up for another customer...gee thanks! If the upgrade does help, I will certainly let you know.
