Menus in Painter Classic shift down

So, I'm pretty used to using painter classic, but I just realised that options have been hidden from me, because when I click on a menu, it shifts the menu down, so I can't see some of the menu. It hasn't been too much of an impairment, but I'm just starting to use more tools, and there's options on that one menu that can change the brush size, and so on, and I'd like to use those.

Anyways, what I'm asking of you people here is if there is any way to stop it from shifting down. And I've already tried reinstalling. If it helps any, I'm running it on an XP computer.

Please help?
