I know we've had this discussion before about having trunks go directly to seperate menus for different departments. anyway the only way i have been able to configure it is using phantom exts which is ok i guess. Now on my MAIN company greeting i have an option 3 that transfers the caller to the phantom ext menu tree by using the transfer mailbox function. i would like to somehow eliminate having it to "transfer" per se and go directly to the auto attendant greeting, because currectly when you press 3 it says you are being transfer to "blank" and then u here a ringback. i would like to eliminate that unnecessary process if at all possible. am i making any sense? has anyone else tried to do this?

Are you using a 3300 or a 200 controller

Embedded voicemail?

How many ports?

On a 200, I am more likely to setup a couple of the voicemail ports as Rads and utilize the AutoAtt Function of a hunt group.

The system can answer more calls than you have ports as calls are queued and then all callers hear the message simultaneously when 1 becomes free. It is prudent to keep the message short however.

The AutoAtt hunt group uses speed dials to map the keys dialed by the caller. The "transfer" is instant and ringback is heard immediately upon pressing the key.

If you had more DSP's and thus More ports, you could set up multiple AA groups and eliminate the menu nodes altogether.
