I know I have asked this before but there must be another way to setup a menu tree greeting when the caller dials a main number for each department. We have the Main office line setup with the 999 mailbox where u can enter the ext whenever u want but we have direct lines for different departments that i would like to be able to do the same thing. How I have it set up now is our event center direct line is directed to a menu tree mailbox. First of all it wouldn't even let me assign it in the non dial in trucks to pick up that mailbox unless i created a phantom extension linked to that mailbox. This seems a little messy. Secondly when you call the event dept main number you can't enter an extention or go to the main company menu by pressing * or press 9 for the personnel directory. Is this the only way to do what I'm trying to do?

This sounds very similar to a problem i ahve had on a 3300, one company but with three different incoming ddi going to three differnt mlaa on 3300, i had to make dummy ext with mailbox type set as menu node then re-route this to vm, spoke to itel and they say the way i have done this is not supported, as 3300 only has on autoattendant, and if caller press * to go back to previous menu they would hit the top level aa menu and not the one specfic to my company!unless they buy £4000 of 6160, or buy avaya and vm pro for about £1500-£2000 and you dont have to purchase mailbox licenses!!

program the submenus thru the TUI and then if the caller presses * they will get back to the main greeting. I know there was a bug with this in the Express Mail and I tried programing the sub menu with the TUI and it works.

TUI - Telephone User Interface. The method of pressing 1 for X or using the keypad to enter in your password, or going through the Admin mailbox to make programming changes with your phone instead of using the GUI.

GUI - Graphical User Interface. Using your computer to make make programming changes.

My Biggest problem is that I almost always believe what I tell myself.
