I was wondering if it is possible to setup a RAD greeting on the NuPoint that would act as a menu tree. That way I have the recording say "If you know your parties extension you may dial it now, or press # for the staff directory". This would be with a 3300.

A menu is entirely possible.

A menu as a RAD not so much.

The purpose of a RAD is to provide a comfort greeting while waiting to be served.

An auto-attendant is used to provide the functions you describe.

Their functions do not typically overlap. Can you elaborate on your application?

I'm trying to mimic an application that is fairly easy to setup on a Mitel 5000 or Axxess. On the 5000, you setup a hunt group. You assign a Call Recording Announcement as the announcement of the hunt group. You can then program the digit translation field of the CRA. This allows you to do things like press 0 to leave a message instead of remaining in the queue, dial a known extension number in the building etc.

I understand that the RAD traditionally is a one way audio application, but I was hoping that someone might have a work around that would allow it to work similar to the way it does on the old Inter-Tel platforms. That way the 2nd or 3rd time the "comfort recording" comes on, the caller could decide that they want to leave a message afterall instead of remaining on hold.

I have seen something similar by using "ACD Path Interflow Dialing Lists". Not sure how it would go dialing extensions directly though.

On the 3300, with ACD you have the ability to dial out of queue. It would be a single digit defined destination.

The destination could be a menu tree, mailbox, operator etc.

For a simple hunt group, there is no option to dial during a RAD.

You can do this via call director on the Nupoint.
create a menu and select the multi number option for the extn numbers, you can also add dial by name as an option (you will need to make sure that all the mailboxes have names for this to work correctly)
No need to use RADS as you can record the prompts in the call director

I actually am using the call director feature to create the digit mapping. Is there a way to allow the call to ring in the queue simultaneously as the call director menu plays back to the caller?

No once the call is in the queue it will remain there until it has either been answered or interflowed/overflowed.

Interflow dialling list can with an appropriate message provide something you are after however once they have selected the option they will no longer be in the queue.
