Hi,
We hava problem with Business Objects - whenever a report is eventually allocated exactly 32 Mb of memory (starts off grabbing 17Mb), it bombs with the following:

1 processor Pentium Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 3
Windows NT Server (Terminal Server) v4.0 build 1381 (Service Pack 6)
Physical Total/Avail: 32.768 Kb / 32.764 Kb
Temp directory O:\TEMP\4d\ (3306944 Kb available)
'Cirrus Logic Compatible' video card
1024 x 768 with 256 colors
------------------------------------------------------------------

Unhandled Exception
Code: c0000005
Description: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION

Call stack:
------------------------------------------------------------------
Module at 0x31c50000: Q:\Program Files\BusinessObjects\BusinessObjects 5.0\cube50.dll
address: 0x31cb1f4f
address: 0x00c70001
address: 0x31caec50

We have tried limiting the reported memory to 32 Mb (as in the above example) but get the same error even if no limit set. Does anyone have any ideas?

c0000005 often comes up when there is a permissions issue. Try using Filemon and checking for instances of "Access Denied" or suchlike.

Could the fact that the home directories are on another server and replicated (for load balancing) have anything to do with it?

I'm not sure why you'd want to replicate home directories for load-balancing, but Filemon will give you the best indication of the source of this type of problem.
