I have just recently bought another 512MB PC2700 DDR stick of memory to slot into my Asus A7V333 mobo. BIOS Finds I GB of RAM fine and also the POST shows 1 GB. My problem comes when win98 loads. With 512MB everything works fine, when i boot into win98 with 1GB it starts complaining that there isnt enough free memory to run some of my startup tasks (zonealarm, scheduler etc) and then proceeds to freeze
Any ideas?

spec.. Athlon xp-2100+, 1GB 512 PC2700 DDR RAM, Asus A7V333 mobo. Both sticks of RAM are the same (generic ram) _______________

You need to upgrade to windows2000 or XP, windows 9x/ME series of operating systems can't handle anything over 512 megs of ram. It is a known issue with the 9x kernel. I will try to find the case number on MS and post that.
