Is there a memory limitation using win2000 advanced server with sql 2000 enterprise edition. We are currently at 8 gig, to go to 16 do we need datacenter?

Windows 2000 Advanced Server only supports 8 gigs of RAM. (I would recommend upgrading to Windows 2003 Advanced Server as it supports 32 Gigs of RAM. ( Purchasing data center requires purchasing it from a data center certified partner such as HP or Dell and requires purchasing new hardware specifically for the OS. Not to mention that you can't purchase the Windows 2000 family any more.

To get a Windows 2000 license you have to purchase Windows 2003 and use the downgrade rights.

Your SQL Version will support 64 Gigs of RAM.
