Hello, I have W2k SP4 running as a share file server.

The problem is that I am receiving as error system log
ID=2019
Source=SRV,
The server was unable to allocate from the system nonpaged pool because the pool was empty.

After some days, the network connections fails and noone can access to my server and I have to reboot.

I notice that fssm32.exe (f-secure antivirus) is takin a lot of memory, and I think this can be the cause of my problem with my server.

do you have any suggestions? or how can I manage my problem..(memroy leak, etc)

thanks a lot for your help.

Sounds like f-secure is leaking memory. Have you checked the site for hotfixes/patches or technical notes that lead to a solution. Start there first

Hello, and tks to reply me.

Yes, I was checking on forums but no specific solutions for this problem.

I posted in f-secure forum, and I am waiting for answer.

so i will wait for the moment.

if any suggestions. just send..

thanks a lot.

Yes but did you make sure that you have installed the most recent patch release for F-Secure. I have seen plenty of antivirus patches have caused a lot of issues.. so it is possible you are running a release level that had issues

Hi again.. in fact I found out, that is my TSM backup that is leaking memory.

I track the server using poolmon.exe and pmon.exe..;
and it showed that service dsmcsvc.exe after backup bumps Memory and I think that is my problem.

so I am looking for a solution; first about TSM; if not.. I will try to modify registry with

Tks...

What version of the TSM client are you running? I have run many instances of TSM and haven't seen a memory leak from it. Check for an updated version of your client (start with a point release ex going from 5.3.1 to 5.3.4) to see if that helps.

Hi, I have TSM V5R2 level 2.0.

For the moment I create a batch to stop and start TSM service and I see that Memory decrease in a good way, but I still have to track the memory in order to confirm that is TSM that is makes me the server to stop.

I am looking for patches also, but for the moment I didnt apply any patch.

Hi there again..

After checking all my applications..it seems that applications are running OK.
but today, again the same problem. connections hanged and nobody could connect to them remotly to my file server 'shares folders'.

is really annoying and I dont get a real solution..I continue to look for and I saw that other people have the same problem after installing SP4 for Win2000 server. but no solutions yet.

so I am looking to apply the good HOTFIX for SP4. hope this will solve my problem.

just to remind.. I still receiveing this
