I am recieving a "not enough memory error (RAM" when I am trying to save a 12.5 mb file as progressive. I have 2gb of system RAM and a 200gb hard drive. I use xp-pro. on a 3ghz system.

Why is this error occuring.

Thanks

Sincerely Hans

To start with:

Have you checked your PShop memory settings?
edit > preferences > memory and image

Have you checked your system memory status
Ctrl-Alt_Del > Task Manager > Performance Tab and Process Tab to see if you have a memory hog running in the background

Have you checked for Virus lately?

Have you loaded any extra fonts lately?

Thanks for your response

My PShop memory/cache settings are;
Memory set to 90% = 1600mb

My system memory is as follows:
Physical memory Total 2095848k
Available 1158680k

System Cache 272366k

Kernel Memory Total 144636k
Paged 103848k

I run Norton AV daily

I have not loaded any extra fonts

Hans

Is this a recent error or has it always been there?

Have you checked with > support
choose Photoshop and search for Memory

I see many links on how to track down memory issues
