Why does an error message always come out whenever I open my old Foxpro for windows 2.6? I just ignore the message and it works fine though.

I still have some clients I maintain who have system I developed in that platform and its such a pain to see them appear. The apps work fine though.

Is there a patch for that?

Thanks in advance.

You have to install a small Patch called PATCH26.EXE. I think it still available at MS (go to the download page, and search for Foxpro 2.6 download). Pick the one called PATH_26.EXE Fixes divide by zero error on fast computers ...

At the command prompt (DOS), you type

PATCH26 foxprow.exe

or

PATCH26 foxprow.esl

The problem is with machine faster than 333mhz (I can't remember...) and does affect nothing (except distress calls from your users). The patch will clear the message.

Hope that help

I had a similar problem when I moved (copied) FoxPro 2.6a to a Win 2000 fast Dell. I would try to start Fox and get a blink, no error message at all. The patch26.exe I downloaded from MS didn't work-gave me a "Baseline..." something error. However I found something called dzpatch mentioned on the Fox 2.x forum. It solved the problem. Follow the instructions posted by Nro and patch both the foxprow.exe and foxw2600.esl .

It is a speed issue and seems to occur around 300mhz and faster. Fox 2.6 is still the best label maker for legacy impact printers. I cannot get Fox6.0 to print a decent 4 across PS label on an ancient Printronix.
