One of our servers is running out of disk space. While browsing around looking for things to get rid of, we ran across a 800 meg file named memory.dmp. Its name implies that it is a dump file.
Questions:
Is it safe to delete it?
Will NT recreate it?
If it will, can we limit its size in the future?

Thanks

Throw it away, if you want. The file is auto-generated during failure (help>dumpfile). If you are not having consistant problems it may mean nothing, if you are having them Miscrosoft can use it to help solve what may be causing them. It is an image of our memory at failure.
I have had this happen do to power failures and BAD shutdowns
