Hi folks, I have A V880 with (ostensibly) 4 Gb Memory. However, prtdiag -v gives me the following output (sorry if it's a bit garbled in the pasting):

Logical Logical Logical
MC Bank Bank Bank DIMM Interleave Interleaved
Brd ID num size Status Size Factor with
---- --- ---- ------ ----------- ------ ---------- -----------
A 0 0 512MB no_status 256MB 8-way 0
A 0 1 512MB no_status 256MB 8-way 0
A 0 2 512MB no_status 256MB 8-way 0
A 0 3 512MB no_status 256MB 8-way 0
A 2 0 512MB no_status 256MB 8-way 0
A 2 1 512MB no_status 256MB 8-way 0
A 2 2 512MB no_status 256MB 8-way 0
A 2 3 512MB no_status 256MB 8-way 0

It seems to be telling me that the machine has only 2 Gb memory made up of 8 256 Mb DIMMs. On the other hand, the 'Logical Bank Size' indicates 8 512 Mb, giving me my 4 Gb. prtdiag -v also correctly reports 4 Gb. Can anyone shed any light on the difference between the DIMM size and the 'Logical Bank Size', please? TIA.

Presumably each bank of memory consists of two 256MB DIMMs, so you have in fact 16 DIMMs in the machine.

Annihilannic, that's the only logical explanation I can think of too - many thanks for your input.
