memo field show up as unknown in TTX

Hello all,

I am creating a TTX file off an ADO recordset using VBA from an MS Access database using the 'CreateFieldDefFile' function. The memo fields in the Access database show up as "Unknown" in TTX file and do not show up in the fields list in crystal reports. I am using Crystal Reports 8.5 and Access 2002.

Consider converting them to another data type (or multiples) as Crystal 8.5 can't use them in formulas anyway (though it can display them).

Right, as synapse... suggests consider converting the field type to some thing supported by crystal.

I remebered something about this from way back and dug up this Kbase for you

The issue would still apply since the technology has remained the same.

You will also want to be using a dynamic client side cursor if not already.

i.e.

RS.CursorType = adOpenDynamic
RS.CursorLocation = 3
