memo field in query (Access 2000)

Hi,

I'm using a query in Access 2000, that blows up on a memo field with the following error:

"Cannot include Memo, OLE, or Hyperlink Object when you select unique values (tblCustomers.Comments)"

Any ideas what this may be about? Memo fields can be used in queries, right?

Hi Ray,
You might want to try either the "Microsoft: Access Modules (VBA Coding)" or the "Microsoft: Access - General discussion" forums (depending on whether this is a saved query or an SQL statement in some module). You would probably be better able to find an answer there Katie

I was aware of those forums, so that's helpful....

I haven't started COM+ yet; we're still w/ Windows NT. COM hasn't been that great, one project I tried it w/ worked really slow.

Ouch. I'm not really sure if you're being sarcastic or not..

I just mentioned them since I know the other forums have several people who are very, very good with Access, and would probably immediately know the answer. Whereas I don't. :-( I did test a theory, but it turned out to be nothing.. Katie

Someone pointed out the answer to me; in the query properties "Unique values" had been set to "Yes" and needed to be "No"!!
