Memo Default Value

Hi, I am a relatively new Access user. I have created a table (reporting) with ID related to table admin (ID). The admin table has two fields: ID ad Comments. I have set a default value for the memo...however, when I attempt to view a report the default message is not displayed. Any ideas? Thanks.

Default values are never displayed in a report, only saved (or calculated) values.
