Hi there, heres a good one for you all :)

Ive got an Internet server on a leased line with a static public class c IP address. This is my PDC and on here I run Proxy v2 (with packet filtering enabled) for my internal LAN.

Ive installed Terminal Server on a new PC on the same class c subnet (of the external nic on the PDC) and am trying to make it a member server of the domain, with no luck.

When Im using packet filtering on the Proxy Server (the PDC) and logged onto the Terminal Server I cant see the PDC at all, obviously because the packets are being filtered. When I disable packet filtering I can successfully change the Terminal Server so that it is a memeber of the domain and all associated Domain stuff starts to work.

My problem is, now I want to re - enable packet filtering on the Proxy Server but dont know the ports to leave open so I can log into the domain from the Terminal Server and carry on as normal.

In short does any know the ports to open on Proxy Server with packet filtering enabled to allow a server on the same subnet of the external NIC to join and use a domain.

Thanks for all your help.

Are you using Citrix MetaFrame on the Terminal Server? If so, you need to open TCP Port 1494 for ICA Traffic and UDP Port 1604 for ICA Browsing.

I'm sure there are similar ports for RDP (without MetaFrame) but I'm not sure what they are...

X-)
