I have a situation, when user A gets a meeting request a NDR from his ex-assistant is returned to the sender.

The assistant's account has been removed from AD, there is no delagate with that name on his mailbox and there are no account permissions for that user to be assigned to his mailbox.

Message tracking can't report on the source of the email due to the fact that the account has been deleted.

Where can I look to find the source of this error?

Thanks

Hello Pigboy,

Go to User A and check under the delegates for his Calendar and delete the ex-assistant from there.

There are no permissions for the ex assistant on the calendar.

Hey,

Go to the tools menu and then down to "Options", check the "Delegates" tab, that is probably where the problem lies. If the ex-assistants name is there - then that is what is causing the NDR.

The user's new assistant's name is on the delagate tab, but the old assistant is not there. The old assistant's mailbox and AD account have been removed so there is no way that they could be still listed as a delagate.

Even though you delete a user account and mailbox from AD, their account still lingers on a person's delegate tab. You have to MANUALLY remove it. If the person who got the NDR sent the apt to a distribution list, check everyone in the distribution list on their delegate tab.

Hey Pigboy,

I had the very issue you described. It took me about 3 weeks to finally track it down and it only occurred after I deleted the mailbox and Active directory account. And it wasn't in the first place I looked, I had to go through an entire distribution list of users to find out the delegate (the assistant was the delegate for two individuals).
