Does anyone use Meet Me numbers in a booking system?
We have created 10 Meet Me numbers with the initial idea that staff book the numbers in a similar way to booking meeting rooms through public folders in Outlook. However, if these numbers are advertised anyone could join in.
I have thought of the following ideas.
1.Do away with the booking system and create a meet me number when a request comes in and then delete it when its done (not very practical)
2. Create a new CSS for the Meet Me number rang that only certain dn's could call. These dn's would be linked to a user id the staff used to log in with for the call (the PIN could be changed each tim)(Too messy)
3.Again create a new CSS and incorporate a forced Authorization code which would be given out for staff to use
before the call so they can actually dial the meet me number.
(I think this is the best but have never set up a forced authorization code !)

Of those three, I agree that the third would be the easiest to maintain and modify. Unfortunately, by incorporating FAC, you have to modify your existing route patterns to enable FAC, which enables it for all users using that route pattern, or create additional route patterns associated only with your new CSS. Even that can get kind of messy if your route patterns are very precise.

Thanks for that John I'll pass the advice on and if thats what is chosen as the solution by higher beings than I will investigate further. (I can see my next thread already!)

There is a way to front end a MeetMe number with a Unity Call Handler and have the inbound callers name to be announced and then the caller can be accepted or rejected. I personally haven't had time to try it. Here is the highlights as I read them.
Essentially you create a MeetMe_PT. Assign the PT to all the MeetME numbers, give conference initiators and Unity voicemail ports access to the MeetMe_PT thru their CSS. Set up the Call Handler with the MeetMe number, ring the MeetMe extension, do Supervised transfer, Gather Caller Information and check Confirm and Ask Caller Name.
2 notes, every MeetMe number needs it's own Call handler and ANYONE on the call can accept or reject the caller.
