One of our fullbackup Jobs exit everytime with "media Write error" status.
After changing Tape and cleaning the Drive we had the
same result.
We are working on BS 3.4.1GA (W2k), using
Tape QuantumDLT40000.

Thanks for your help!

How is this drive connected? Is it a Fibre connected drive or SCSI connected?

What is your configuration?

Config:
Tape stacker DLT - HP Autoloader 418 (C6280-4000), 8 Slots Firmware 2.12 On SCSI Bus.

Our Backup run on a Slot 1
We don't have any problem with other backups jobs on slots 2-8.

I have had a similar issue with one of our drives - Resolution - Replace it, especially if still underwarranty. On ours - Slot 2 always gave errors and we replaced the drive, the picker etc but eventually told them to replace the entire unit - Guess what, it has worked like a charm since, apparently something on the controller board went for a loop.
