media warning access is denied

I have a tape drive where networker is trying to do anything with it i get these messages in the log:

media warning \\.\Tape# opening: access is denied.
\\.\Tape# read open error: access is denied.

It was fine last week. This just started happening.

Re-applied windows drivers to offending tape drives and all was fine.
