And the backup failed, please explain me the meaning of the logs. Is it problem with the tape, or networker or with the tape drive?Why it didn't clean automaticly?

You can not easily determine that. First, NW assumes a media problem but a HW problem could also be possible. May i suggest that you test your scenario with another tool (tar etc.) to find out.

From these logs, you can not say why the cleaning was not initiated. Make sure that it can, if possible. Especially, look whether your cleaning tape has not been used up.

Thanks for the reply. I can see it has 49 uses left, therefore it is almost new. Could you send me how to force the cleaning by the system?

and second ..thing..how to do this properly "by hand"?I found the procedure coming with the documentation of scalar BLU from display menu. But should I use it as it is there described or with networker (nsradimn -c) tool?

If NW shall take care about the cleaning, you should not do via the jukebox panel. Otherwise you will bypass NW.

To force the cleaning, simply insert the cartridge into the drive. From the command line you do this with

nsrjb -ln -f <device> -S <slot>
