media server 2 nics to bond or something else?

I have a media server with 2 nics we are currently using one of them.
can you or should you configure up the second one to increase performance to the drives.
so if both are on the same media server…

NicA currently set
Nic B not set yet b

do you simply set nicb up, and simply add Server=nicb in the bp.conf?

I fail to understand how nicb gets configured to also be a part of the media server other than this, it seems there has to be something else involved for it to be used
or do you use the same hostname, (media server name) with the ip on nicb?

OR is it better to do some teaming of the cards?

We learned the hard way that Netbackup does not recomend nic teaming after several failed jobs after teaming the nics on our media servers.
