We currently run Arcserve 6.6 IT for Netware on our Novell Network. My backups have been working fine up until last week. I am now running into the following error messages: Device Compaq on ID 6 recovered write errors, E6345 Error sending packet=ffffff33, disk read problems and Media is full.

I have reformatted both old and new tapes, I have cleaned the heads, and I have changed my nightly rotation to custom and to overwrite any media. I have also set the compression to on. I am only attempting to back up 916,669KB. Any ideas what else I should do?

Have you done a cold boot to reset the controller card? I have found scsi controllers causing problems and the error sounds like something else is the problem. A cold boot will reset the card and if you still have the problem it would look like the drive itself may have gone south.

Good luck,

Mark ;-)
