Hi,

I installed a tape library recently on one of my servers and am noticing that it is creating multiple entries for the tapes when it runs the job. The tape name and ID remains the same but the Serial numbers are different, One has the Barcode number and the other(s) have generated serial numbers.

When I click on the Database tab I noticed that under Device records it is showing two Tape devices and two tape libraries. Could this be the cause?

I previously had the Tape Library hooked up to a test server and didn't experience this problem. When I moved the Library to the Live server I erased all the tapes in the library and placed them in there new Media Pools.

Any ideas how to fix this? or if more info is needed let me know.

OS: Windows 2000 SP4 with latest patches
ARCserve: 11.5 SP2 with the following patches applied
QO82963, QO84317, QO84983, QO85523, and QO86255

phantom devices are usually caused by a SCSI ID conflict. Ck the ID of all devices on that bus, change the ID to prevent the conflict, erase all the tapes with the ARCserve generated serial numbers.
