Media Player Hang IE

I've completed uninstalled Windows Media Player, then re-downloaded it and re-installed. Still, if I try to open any page or stream (ie: CNET Radio, CBS's Page) IE just quits responsing. It also hangs everything else, the mouse pointer will move but that's it, even a Ctrl-Alt-Del will only bring up the Run Program Box, from there you can see IE is not responsing but you can't click "End Task", the only function possible at that point is Ctrl-Alt-Del which will reboot.
