The media in our robotic tape library are not expiring according to the retention period defined in each Media Pool. So far, we have been auditing each media in the tape library manually using the Device GUI and 'erase' media according to the 'last write date'.

I noted that the date format in the Windows 2003 operating system is DD/MM/YYYY. However, for the database used by the BrightStor ARCserve Backup 11.1 for Windows (which is SQL Server 2000), I noted that the date format is MM/DD/YYYY instead. Could this be the reason why our media is not expiring according to the set retention period ?

If yes, does anyone knows how to reset the date format in the SQL Server 2000 to DD/MM/YYY ?

Thanks
