media gateway question

the primary controller on mgc list is not reachable, we need to change IP address so that MG register back to main site.

whats the command to change media gateway mgc list and primary controller Ip address?

Do we need to reboot MG after changing IP address and mgc list?

If yes, do we reboot MG from s8300 or just reset MGP?

Hi donayaan,

What you would do to simply change the ip address of the media gateway is perform the following commands listed below.

1. clear mgc list - this will clear the ip address embedded on the media gateway.

2. set mgc list <mgc ip address> - now having perform this command will let you register your new ip address.

3. reset mgp - this will reset the current mgp to refresh the translation you have inputted.

4. show mgc list - to check whether the changes took place.
